Is this legal?+
Yes. Compounded GLP-1 medications and peptides are legally prescribed by US-licensed clinicians and dispensed by US 503A compounding pharmacies. Every order requires a real prescription from a real prescriber. We just made the process not feel like the DMV.
What does "compounded" actually mean?+
A licensed pharmacy makes your prescription specifically for you, often using the same active ingredient as the brand-name drug — semaglutide, tirzepatide — at a fraction of the cost. It's how compounded GLP-1 became affordable while Ozempic prices stayed insane.
How is this different from Hims, Ro, Mochi?+
The medication is the same. The brand is what's different. Those clinics sell wellness theater on top of the prescription — wellness journeys, "your best self," 12-week onboarding. We sell the end of it. Basta.
What if it doesn't work for me?+
We adjust the dose, switch the vial, or pause. Real prescriber, real conversation, by text. No re-onboarding, no "wellness coach" trying to upsell you.
Will my insurance cover this?+
Probably not — and that's usually a good thing. Most BASTA customers pay direct because compounded prices are typically lower than what your copay would've been anyway. HSA and FSA dollars are accepted.
When does this actually launch?+
2026. Waitlist members get first access — earlier than press, earlier than ads, earlier than anyone else. We'll email you the moment we open.
